Okay.
...(deep breath)...you know how, every once in a while, there will be an LJ post from somebody feeling fragile? Asking for the people who care to please handle them with kid gloves and sensitivity?

I need for you all to please listen to this request with the same loving-kindness. Because the need is real, though it isn't often expressed.

Recently, the drain on my energy (primarily during the work day) has outstripped the energy I put into the filters that enable me to function as a relatively decent human being. I am not naturally nice, and I cannot manage to recalibrate myself to accommodate fragility right now. I'll need you to either be able to play rough in my world or simply back away for a bit.

Whether you understand it or not, I still think this is within the range of okay, though I'm well aware that this kind of behavior isn't acceptable in most circles. I am not sad or particularly angry. I simply need some space in which I don't have to devote all that extra energy to being kind beyond what's necessary not to make my children or husband cry.

I do not own kid gloves. Thanks, guys.

I don't know what [livejournal.com profile] twixxa's plans are yet. I haven't seen much of my family this week.

I was sticking an extra day in there between Saturday and Sunday, wasn't I? Would it work to bring [livejournal.com profile] dragon_sword there tonight, then take them both after RfB? That makes three in a row for you guys, but if you need to be kid-free Saturday, it might work. Either way, Saturday is mostly likely good for us with P.B. for even a single sleepover.

I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem with [livejournal.com profile] nodeal57, but I like to perpetuate the illusion that we share control. :-)
