Trying to see the positive in a workplace network CF of royal proportions, complicated by some mysterious disk malady in my own machine:

• I can now use words like firewall, directory, utility, and workaround as if I know what I'm talking about.

Nope. Still a dilettante. :) I've simply gotten better at describing problems and recalling error messages. I really just follow the steps the IT folks tell me to follow.

I have been working so much with my IT guy on our project that I have actually sent *other people* an email that says, "I cannot replicate your problem. Try another computer and see what happens."
