iron_clad likely has me beat... I was an E5 trolling around the desert when I came upon a neat RV -

Sgt Me: Is that an AAV?
LCpl him: It is an LAV-25M (or some such descriptive nomenclature)
Sgt Me: So that's one of those LAVs I've seen in MCIs right? (MCIs are correspondence courses for Marines)
LCpl him: You mean MCT? (Marine Combat Training, basic infantry school for all Marines)
Sgt Me: No, MCIs, I've only seen pictures of these things.
LCpl him: ::look of utter shock and contempt::

I played plenty in the mud, but they kept us smart guys far away from the heavy equipment. It was quite frustrating really.
