I found this little gem by way of buffalowmn's wordpress blog, and I love it so much that I'm stealing it. (Will find the actual source to give credit where it's due.) This is not to say I never make excuses. Dear heavens, no. I have done an excuse-a-thon or a million in my day, and my day ain't over yet. Mostly, I just want to be conscious of where I'm making my excuses and make sure what I determine to be important at any given moment is in line with my Will. Or something like that.

I have this very thing across the top of my white board in my classroom! I called it an "Indian proverb," but the real proverb is something like "A bad dancer always blames the stage." I figured it worked as a translation.
