The world has its gloom and anguish right now, but I'm blessed to focus on this positive: Today marks the one-year anniverary of the day

diermuid and I got married.

We "jumped the paperwork" quite some time before making it public, and *way* before we merged households physically, so lots of people (including my mother) didn't realize it was coming up. SURPRISE! We'll have a party or a honeymoon one of these days. :)

It was a good day, March 29th. We went to the courthouse to get the papers and had a pleasant lunch together -- bacon cheeseburgers with a mug of some hearty beer. We chose a yummy cake at Costco and arranged to visit

fionnabar and her hubby at their home in the evening for a ritual of signing things. They'd set up a nice little ceremonial area in the living room and even provided a bit of wine for the traditional toast! I'm glad they took pictures, too, even though I generally *hate* pictures. (I'll have to grab one or two of those photos and post them here. They're on my laptop at home.)
