So, either the dog is better-insulated than I gave him credit for or else he's just not very smart. He is fascinated by the snow and the bits and pieces blowing around the yard with this wind. It seems like he's constantly whining to be let outside and isn't particularly eager to come back in until he's good and ready. It goes something like this...

can I got outside?
fine
squirrel!
fine
mom, really, I got this
fine
fine
not listening!
fine
fine
fine
DEAR GOD WOMAN WHY WON'T YOU LET ME IN?????
.
.
.
.
can I go outside again?

He's worn out for now, snoogled on the couch with his nose tucked under his feet, which just kills me.

And...he's dragged [livejournal.com profile] diermuid outside again, to PLAY PLAY PLAY. Better him than me.

I thought LL Diermuid had the sniffles?!? What's he doing out in the snow?

Diermuid is about as bright as the dog? ;-)

Actually, all I have to do is bundle up and zombie-walk at the dog, and he does loops around me like AJ Foyt on crack. Although he has become emboldened in the cold, in the 42 seconds it takes his pea-brain to freeze he goes from "EEE... flee the zombie!" to "Grarh! I EAT the zombie!" Unfortunately, Nanook-Diermuid does not flee very well.

I should also clarify, I've really not had the sniffles, I just have an odd little colony of fiberglass-shaped bacteria hanging around the back of my pie-hole. But since the raspy voice pairs well with flannel, leather, and old spice, I've sort of been enjoying it.

Wait. You, like my grandmother, do not ascribe to the germ theory of infection? :-)
