reason for rejoicing
Dec. 18th, 2009 10:38 amI'm not quite through all the flaming hoops at work just yet, but the Festival of Failure seems to have mostly passed. Which is good. (Six rounds of revisions on something because I just couldn't quite get the right "voice" for the product really really really sucks.)
Feeling very happy and hopeful about the weekend's activities and next week's vacation. Lots of stressors have been successfully managed or at least sufficiently weathered, so the anxieties of earlier this week are fading. Whew.
So far today:
Looking forward to:
Come Monday, it'll be all about the final packing and then hoping Mom & Dad slow down enough in their RV for us all to jump in before they make the turn east for our trip to Pennsylvania!

Feeling very happy and hopeful about the weekend's activities and next week's vacation. Lots of stressors have been successfully managed or at least sufficiently weathered, so the anxieties of earlier this week are fading. Whew.
So far today:
- Jackly Wackly's final puppy vaccination/booster, along with a pronouncement that he can transition to Big Boy Food once we're done with this current bag of puppy food.
- Clearance from boss to submit further work on this particular series of writing directly to layout, without additional review/critique, because I've finally got the rhythm/voice DOWN. So very grateful not to suck.
- Some worrisome bills paid, and arrangements for overdue tasks to be tended to while I'm away -- can you say relief?
- The glory of lots and lots of clean laundry for clothing selections today, thanks to the Flying Goad Laundry Service.
Looking forward to:
- Early departure from work today, so I can scoot home and switch into Mommy Mode.
- Picking up a package at the apartment office, which I think contains the kind return of Kira Deara's winter coat from her Kaleidoscope field trip (we've been layering creatively).
- Helping Kira get ready for her first gymnastics meet. Poor girl was a stress puppy earlier this week, but I think she's feeling more excited and prepared now. Note to self: Remember to offer prayers to Artemis and Bast for "strong and confident little girl juju" today!
- Fiona's gymnastics meet tomorrow afternoon, at which she feels certain she will not fall of the balance beam. (Please, please, please...I swear I don't breathe when she's on the balance beam.)
- Finishing up most of my Xmas shopping on Sunday, plus getting my brows done, plus picking up a marvelously donated bed for Rowie's new room at
agrnmn's place. Hard to say what I'm more excited about, really.
Come Monday, it'll be all about the final packing and then hoping Mom & Dad slow down enough in their RV for us all to jump in before they make the turn east for our trip to Pennsylvania!
