saffronhare: (cup o'tea?)

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] fionnabhar's kind re-posting of her recipe, I was able to manifest scones for Friday morning here at work. I wanted to make them for a particular meeting, which was going to be scary. Baked goods automatically make things less scary, I think, especially when served with butter and preserves.

I had originally talked myself out of making them last night, because my brain was devolving and I didn't have cream. But this morning I talked myself out of talking myself out of them, and I'm so glad. They're Just Fine when made with milk. Yay!

Aren't you all glad to know that now?

Also: That particular meeting was one of FIVE meetings I had before 12:30 p.m. today. I ate scones the entire time and felt much better, thank you.

Do they expect you to actually, you know, work when they schedule unending meetings? Kinda hard to get stuff done when stuck in meetings.

Of course they do! That's the joy of being in middle management. It's like playing Tetris, watching my available hours fill up with tasks and deadlines that keep rearranging themselves. :)

SRSLY. I finally put the last few in the office kitchen for general consumption, so I wouldn't finish them *all* by myself!
