I've got friends who are very pleased to do parties/sales for candles or frozen cookie dough or lingerie or whatever. Once in a while, I've attended or helped host one of these parties. Fun as those things were, and lovely as the products can be, I haven't really been tempted to participate as a "dealer."

Until now.

See, when I was getting rid of the pool table, a couple of nice women came to check it out. The ended up not taking it, but we got to talking about tools when I picked up the tape measure one of them had brought and it fit *perfectly* in my hand. You can imagine how surprising this was, given the size of my hands. (They're the tiniest Thug Hands EVAR.)

"You should check out tomboytools.com," one of them told me. And I finally did. WOW. Nicely constructed and well-balanced tools, sized and weighted to account for different hands and grip strength. One can purchase tools directly from the site, or be a rep. Huh, I say. Huh.

Alas. Earwax.

I had a look at their site, and... well, they look like nice enough tools for light home improvement, which is their niche, so that's fine for them. But they don't have many tools that are meant for medium-to-heavy duty while also being sized for smaller hands and grips. (Eg, the only drill they have is a 12V, which is fine for drywall and the like. But I usually need at least a 14.4V, because I tend to be framing or similar.)

Still, if you were to throw such a party, please let me know. I wouldn't order any of these sight unseen (heck, I never order *any* tool sight unseen), but I might have a different opinion of them if given the chance to play around with them a bit.

Yes, I would agree. If one is very SRS about one's tools, then buying them one at a time and perhaps not from an "independent consultant" is not the best approach.

But that middle group? You know, the ones who want good tools that fit their hands for basic stuff? That's sort of where I am.
