Ohmygosh...I've just had some tremendously good Crab Rangoon and Hot & Sour Soup from Chinese Palace (at 119th & Hwy 69, in the center where Hy-Vee used to be).** Just the day for it, too.
** Weird to have lived in a place long enough (KC area) to direct a person to someplace based on landmarks that are no longer there.

Giant battered shrimp with water chestnuts, mushrooms and chilies in a honey-vinegar sauce. Is that not the most Kimberly food ever on the face of the earth?

Date: 2007-04-14 03:57 pm (UTC)The Pei Wei at 93rd & Metcalf isn't a Chinese food joint, instead a pan-Asian joint. The food's pretty good, though it doesn't offer much of a selection for being pan-Asian. Indeed, it doesn't offer much of a selection in comparison to any Chinese, Korean, or Thai restaurant I've been to. It is shiny new, however, if you're into trying new places.
