saffronhare: (Labradoodle Break!)
[personal profile] saffronhare
Thanks to some guac & chips, a great margarita, and some very kind petting, I got to bed early last night. Slept like a rock that sleeps really well. It hardly hurt at all to get up at 0530 and go walking. Short mileage today (only eight miles!), which leaves me with loads of energy. Could be trouble, eh?

Princess !Kaboom is having a banner day. First, a gymnastics party for one of her teammates (at their own gym, even). And then later a movie with her godparents, the ever-adventurous [livejournal.com profile] iron_clad and [livejournal.com profile] breathofgold. She had a great time -- thank you! She has announced that she wants breakfast for dinner, and I'm inclined to say yes.

Princess Sticky has been a potty training monstah today -- dry panties all day (all week, really) and she's pooped on the potty twice today. She is just cool as a cucumber about it all too. Merciful heavens, please let this be the final push.

Listy list-making: some of these are standard Saturday chores; others are extra-special crack-powered ambitions

gather trash and dishes from gaming last night
one load of dishes washed and put away (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn
four loads of laundry folded
sheets stripped off all beds (Princess Sticky is very good at this task)
take a goddam nap (kitchen timers are very useful items)
finish off dishes, shine sink
wash & dry sheets and towels
remember to remake beds ([livejournal.com profile] princessboredom will remake her own bed)
purchase and replace air filter
futz with kitchen sink sprayer thing (in progress)
start working on pattern for wrap pants (this will have to wait on machine to be cleaned, I think)
clean sewing machine (in progress) -- Grr. Somebody with sticky fingers was touching my sewing machine. It's going to need more cleaning than I thought.
remember to feed children
fluff patrol
quick wash of wooden floors
wipe down both bathrooms (one down, one to go)
general dusting downstairs
reset altar
put trash outside
clear metal shelf in basement
move metal shelf into office closet and load it up

Sunday = obsess in kitchen and finish up whatever chores remain from Saturday. Clean out fridge, survey foodstuffs, plan meals for next week, conduct grocery shopping, and do some cooking ahead for the week. Also, finishing up the back-to-school shopping for Princess !Kaboom. Coffee was purchased today.

I'm also getting very excited about resetting my altar and starting in earnest on the GSP this fall. Time to get my druidy geektasticness on. :)

A much more ambitious list than mine, to be sure. Remind me which GSP you're tackling again? I'm justthisclose to wrapping up that DP, and the Bardic GSP is beckoning. (Even if the memorization of 50 lines of poetry terrifies more than might seem reasonable to the average bear.)

I think it'll be the Generalist Study Program (GSP), since it's all approved and has a great deal of cross-over with the Liturgist's SP (which is what I'm really wanting to do).

Ah. I was reading it as Guild Study Program. Got it. :-)

Dude. Your housework list for a day is like my housework list for a week. Though this next week will be interesting -- my kitchen is a temporary workshop, which means I can't really cook without either cleaning up stupid amounts of sawdust or eating stupid amounts of sawdust. Right now I'm opting for making wraps on the footlocker coffee table in the living room. But hey, one shiny pointy bit down, four to go!

Well, you've only got one person living in your place, sawdust or no. :) Still, that's some pretty awesome competence you've got going on there.

I assume the "pretty awesome competence" refers to the knives and not to the housework...

I did find an interesting book from the 50s, The I Hate to Housekeep Book. It's full of useful information for the "random housekeeper," which describes me pretty darn well. And it's funny, too.
