Spent a great deal of time today delving into the dark mysteries of the state's Department of Commerce, County Government and City Licensing requirements. Bottom line? No license required. Seems there's precious little to do when starting a home-based business as a sole proprietorship other than remembering to record income and expenses on my taxes and then pay the government what they want. suh-weet.

I suspect the process might be a bit more complicated if this were a democrat- or union-dominated state, but maybe that's being a bit cynical. Oh, yeah -- and the local Women's Business Center is housed in my office park (the one where I work my day job). Very shortly, we will have a P.O. box and other tools of capitalism within our reach. Beware!

I'll have to post a photo of the golden dollar coins that Santa left in my stocking this Christmas as a mark of his favor. It makes me smile, thinking of [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn standing at the post office stamp vending machine, pushing in a $20 and selecting the "one stamp" option over and over -- just to get those coins for me. Ka-thud...ka-ching...ka-thud...ka-ching...

Can't wait to plunk the velvet bag on the bank counter to make our first Nine Fires deposit!

that reminds me, the tooth fairy needs to go to the post office and get some golden coins because trouble finally has his first loose tooth.

Oh, boy. What do you think? Is he the type who will wiggle and rip it out as soon as possible? Or will he let it hang there until it finally jumps out of desperation?

so far he's been pretty good about leaving it alone. with Trouble i think he wants to stay as little as he can. i don't know, the curse of being the youngest maybe? he's pretty immature for nearly 6½.
