Lovely, lovely day.
Dec. 23rd, 2004 12:56 pmThe sun is bright outside my skylight and the office is so very quiet that I've already gotten a ton of work done. Amazing how quickly I can get ahead of the curve when the rest of the curve isn't moving.
I ended up having a very pleasant evening last night. My ritual team were very gracious about tolerating my pajamas for our meeting (no, it wasn't at my house) and my allergy med-induced loopiness. Hubby tucked me into the flannel sheets -- amongst lots of doggies and laundry that really isn't all that clean anymore -- before he went to work. Proceeded to sleep so very soundly that I didn't hear Princess Sticky waking up. Her cries of, "My butt is wet! And cold! My butt is wet AND cold!" awakened
zylch, who was so thrilled with her 8" bench grinder (given to her for no particular reason at all, we don't even like her really) that she took care of the baby's butt on my behalf. Thank you. I even believe you would have done it without the gift of the bench grinder, as you cheerfully insisted this morning. Really.
::wriggle wriggle wriggle::
I have no meetings to attend tonight, and can therefore release
agrnmn to his late-season shopping insanity (he loves it). Tomorrow, I've got the day off and all day to spend in madcap preparations with my family. And I really love that part, racing and sneaking around and shooing them away from nearly every closet and bedroom in the house. "Don't come in yet!"...rustle rustle rustle..."Okay, now you can come in!"
::wriggle wriggle wriggle:: SQUEE!
In a marvelous burst of spontaneity, the MIL is hosting a Mexican food feast at her place for the family Christmas Eve dinner. The TCP has been asked to bring dessert. We've ordered a couple o'pies from Tippins, but we're going to embrace the Mexican-inspired theme and attempt toengineer bake manifest flan. Note to self: search for recipes so that ingredients can be purchased on the way home this evening.
Saturday should be a great mix of chaos and relaxation. Presents will likely be denuded very early in the morning -- and we'll get to take lots of pictures of the massacre with the digital camera my folks are sending (it ought to arrive today...knock on wood). Then,
agrnmn will head off to work at 8:30 a.m. and the napping will begin. I expect I'll also be doing a lot of card scoring and cutting during my waking hours, which will make me very happy. Grandparents won't be coming over until Sunday, so there will be almost no activity requiring that we change out of our jammies, even. Yay. Note to self: ensure there are lots of easy things in the house for feeding the children on Saturday.
::wriggle wriggle wriggle::
Off to do some more work now. See you guys whenever.
