Haven't gotten back into a "workout" routine, but the Hurty Foot has been getting better enough that I can participate in active activities and such -- like walking the dog -- with lots less pain and much better recovery time. YAY!

On Friday, we went out to the old Olathe Lake golf course for a day of "day camp" activities with a scouting unit we're starting up for the younger girls (Campfire USA, rather than GSA or BSA, for reasons). Spent the whole day tromping around on uneven ground. I was ready to be DONE when we got home and hit the Mexican painkillers (aka margaritas) hard, but felt reasonably recovered on Saturday...enough so that, on Sunday, we took [livejournal.com profile] diermuid out geocaching for Father's Day. Again with the tromping. Some ice and Motrin did the trick for that. If I needed meds for anything, it was the TICK CHECK. Dear heavens. Peel me off the ceiling.

I'm unlikely to do much (if any) geocaching without [livejournal.com profile] diermuid, but his joy is pretty infectious. It was a lot of fun. We even "planted" a series of new caches that he's been imagining for a few years -- "elemental" caches on the North, South, East, and West sides of town (with mostly corresponding trinkets inside). We'll place a "spirit" cache somewhere on the edge of our own property, to mark the center. NIFTY. He's got a notion in his head of a biking trail/camping trip we can do not too far from here, where the trail is dotted with geocaches the kids can hit as well. We'll see.

I've been feeling an itch for more ritual and shared observance of pagan holidays again lately. But that's another post altogether.

I'm glad to hear your foot is feeling better. GEEZ that's been...how long now? Poor bb.

Ticks, though. Ugh. One of the many reasons I mostly stay indoors. *shudder*

Ticks give me the heebie-jeebies, I tell you what. It was all I could manage not to NOPE the EFF OUT. I enjoy the tromping, but will likely stick to the trails for most of my own 'caching in the future.

*points up*
I agree with all of the above. Especially the Camp Fire piece.

And let's not even discuss how I feel about ticks. *shudders*

Would be interested in being a part of whatever this might turn out to be. Been missing you so much recently, and missing ritual. I suspect they go together. (For reasons, as you said.)

Glad you had an enjoyable weekend and that the Foot of Doom is healing. Again.

Devon was involved with Campfire in Oklahoma. I far preferred it to scouts. Actually didn't know they had any here. Might have to see if Bridgit wants to get involved. She got very disillusioned with GS.

He's really delighted to have done them, and to have people finding and logging them now too! It was funny...as we were placing them, he was trying to put them at really perfect cardinal points for NSEW, and *I* was the mellow one. For once. (This is because, in my druidry, there isn't any particular direction for the elements. Land beneath our feet; water all around us; sky above.)
