The "altar to booze" has happened. Not 100% satisfied with it so far...needs a bit more color. Maybe I'll add some greenery when I get the Xmas boxes opened later this weekend. Picture quality has improved a little with new phone, but my skill has not. :/



Boxes have been extracted from the oubliette. Tomorrow, I'll start unpacking them and we'll put out decorations that are not the tree. Sunday is Tree Day, which will involve a lot of furniture Tetris in the living room, and possible temporary relocation of one or two items until the end of the season. Yes, it's an exciting life I lead.

That's a very compelling little gif, there. I can't stop watching! Not all of the booze is tasty, I'm sad to say, because it's very difficult to convince my husband that cost-per-UOM is not the highest objective for any purchase of consumables. (There's also some gin, to which I am allergic on account of juniper.) I have a plan to Consume Many Things this season and begin replacing with Good Stuff. We'll see how it works. :)

Cost-per-UOM is a big deal in many of our purchases, and I don't dispute that as a deciding factor when other qualities of the product are pretty darn equal. For me, though, likker is such a treat that I can't see skimping on it. :: shrug :: I mean, I'm 43 years old now. At what point do I figure I'm grown-up enough to insist on good booze or none at all? It's a back-and-forth thing in my brain. :)

I look at it this way: Because I chose not to grow up (and have a family, or other people who rely on me financially), I can afford to hold out for the expensive shit if I want it. This applies most often to booze, boots, and chocolate. =D
