Jan. 13th, 2012 06:41 pmBree is a very difficult puppy to photograph. If she's holding still, it's because she's asleep...and then she's sort of a dark BLOB unless the light is really wonderful. The userpic for this post is a photo taken by PB, when the puppy fell asleep with her chin in the photographer's hand. Here's a photo taken outside this afternoon, when the weather was blessedly much better for housetraining and general scampering.

For reference, here's a photo of a female English Mastiff at 18 weeks of age. That's only about 10 weeks away, people. I knew she'd get big...I guess I hadn't ever considered the *rate* of growth it'd take to get there. WOW. No wonder she sleeps a lot!

She was asleep (as in the userpic) when I got home from work -- "helping" everyone depart for their weekend camping trips by holding down the middle of the living room carpet with her snooze-fu. Not long after, there was some scampering with Jack, and then some dinner, followed by a trip outside. When she came inside, she wandered around, whimpering for a couple of minutes. Jack was SO distressed. He kept looking at me, like, FIX THIS, MOM. ...and then I put her in "bed" for a nap, where she exhaled audibly and snuggled in for a nap. I know how you feel, sister.

And then we need to go to the store and take a picture of the food bag. Because I transferred her 40-pound bag of food to a Rubbermaid container (because we've been battling pantry moths here) and tossed the bag that had all the weight/portion information on it, not considering the fact that she'd likely "graduate" to needing a larger serving size before we bought another bag. Whoops.
