Because [livejournal.com profile] zylch's introduction of this made me laugh until I fell outta my kneeling chair here at the office, I'm gonna do it too. Here's the set-up, as a direct quote:

So there's this meme that goes around every year, about posting the first line from each month in your journal.

Bah, I say. My life does not run on this calendar of Jan 1 to Dec 31. Nor does it recognize the first of the month as being particularly significant. So, I present to you the semi-random first line meme. How it works is this:

Acquire a random number between 1 and 28. Use dice, use random.org, consult your pineal gland, whatever. This is your day reference. Now, acquire another random number between 1 and 12 to pick a month for each year you've posted in your journal (if you've only had your journal for a year or two, just do a randomly selected day from each month). Post the first line of the entry from that date, or if no entry on that date, then from the first entry following it.

** QUESTION: How do I make these links? Hrm. **

My results (the 9th of each month):

October 9, 2003 -- So I'm trying to fill in my interests and all that fun stuff, and I put down "vorpal bunnies." (this, posted within a few days of just starting up on LJ)

February 9, 2004 -- The medication I had over the weekend had an odd side effect -- in addition to relieving pain, it tended to make me forget where my arms were.

November 9, 2005 -- If you take a communion wafer, and draw a mean face on it, you have not just manifested The Furious Host.

August 9, 2006 -- News flash from my Pandora playlist for Brick House Radio: There are three Christina Aguilera songs I like.

July 9, 2007 -- I love the God Auction, and I love when it's over. (Really, it was difficult to find an entry from 2007 that wasn't seriously locked down and/or filled with pain. This was a really awful year.)

December 9, 2008 -- It's amazing how thoroughly I dedicate myself to flossing, when I ought to be doing something else.

April 9, 2009 -- Today, I am finding sunshine in unexpected places, thank all the little gods.
