So, huh. I have the opportunity to enroll in AFLAC (again) this year at my place of employment. It's something I never really gave much thought to before, but the shift in my living situation and financial profile over the last couple of years has triggered second thoughts. Additionally, I just purchased life insurance that's mine-all-mine (not through my employer); and mom falls almost every week. Frailty and mortality are very much top-of-mind these days.

Does anybody here have AFLAC? What do you think of it?
Did you have the option but waived it? Why?

I had the option and waived it. Since I have a working spouse, disability on my part doesn't mean a complete loss of income... and since it's so darn expensive, no thanks.

Plus they tried to lure us into signing up by offering plush ducks and pressuring us--we "had" to fill out the forms RIGHT THEN while they were in the office. That seemed too pathetic.
