Well, Rowie seems to have been hammered by something. She was sniffling yesterday morning; last night, she was congested and sort of bleh; by the time she got home from school this afternoon, she was complaining of a headache and general body aches...sore throat and continuing head congestion...and a fever.

YAY.

We'll be undertaking whatever interventions can help her be less miserable (both within herself and with the rest of us!) and generally doing what we can to stave off doom for the remainder of the household. Also, watching very carefully for complications with her asthma.

Naturally, none of us has been able to even get our regular flu shots yet, nevermind the more exotic vaccinations for bacon flu, but it's not for lack of trying!

I've been very pre-occupied of late, with excessive work demands. Now, it'll get even BETTER. Please expect even less of me than usual for a little while. We'll be limiting unnecessary contact with the outside world. (sigh)

There is no bacon vaccine yet anyway, so you have missed much. Hope she feels better soon and that it resolves itself with minimal need for a flame-thrower.

Qualification of statement: I am not a Doctor

...but I will say, it sounds like H1N1/Influenza (It is the most likely as that is what the majority of cases are right now but I will never be 100% as we aren't testing anymore but you can be reasonably sure and wow that was long).

Nothing to really do about that. As you know, it is very very important to watch her for any complications with her asthma history and take her to the ER if she worsens.

As for H1N1 vaccine... watch my LJ for more info as to date/times/locations where she can get it.

Love you. Love her. Energies for speedy recovery.

Yup. We've been paying attention. :)

Very frustrating that we haven't even been able to get regular flu shots yet this year. The doctor has the pediatric dose, but all three girls now need the bigger doses, which isn't available yet. All three girls qualify for what the doc calls "the first wave" of H1N1 vaccine once it's available (based on age and health history). I qualify for the second wave due to health history.

Staying tuned. :)

I hope she has recovered well and no others were germ-bombed in the making of this film. Ukkkk.

She's still feeling a bit puny, but not so bad as Friday. Now, we're trying to be on guard against asthma troubles as things progress. (Less head congestion, but more of it in her chest.) No fever, though, so that's good.

Keeping her home from school for one more day, since she's still a bit gray in the face. Nothing to be gained by pushing her back too fast, you know?
