Date: Saturday, August 8, 2009
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: Harvesters Food Bank, 3801 Topping Ave, KCMO
Wild Hare Grove will celebrate our first harvest festival of 2009 by offering up the fruits of our labor to Harvesters, Kansas City's community food bank. We'll meet at the Harvesters Volunteer Outreach Center and open our ritual, then move inside to offer our efforts as the "work of the day." This ritual is open to the public, so feel free to bring a friend if you like.
Plan to gather in the grassy area adjacent to the parking lot at about 12:30 p.m., because our volunteer shift runs 1-3 p.m. Once the shift is over, we'll go back to our starting area to close the rite and should be done by about 3:30 p.m.
The patron for this rite is Brigid. For your own praise offerings, please plan to bring something that can be donated to Harvesters in the name of whatever Power you're honoring. We will have limited ability to carry/pack out much in an offering bowl. Feel free to bring a light snack to share afterwards, though there is no particular requirement to do so; "cakes and ale" will be provided for the blessing cup portion of the rite.
For directions to Harvesters and information about what to expect from the work shift, visit Harvesters online at http://www.harvesters.org/GiveTime/Index.asp?Reference=VOCFAQs&~=.
Hope to see you there!
