Unexpected juiciness.

This afternoon, I took a lunch break adventure to secure one of my birthday gifts to me -- signing up for some classes at the Yoga Gallery. Alas, I was thwarted, because they lock the door during classes. I am planning to attend a class this evening, so I'll try to get there early enough to handle that admin stuff before the session starts.

Suddenly, a band struck up (live, steel-drum-type music from the "village square") and I turned to see a modest turn-out for the Farmer's Market. The scent of nectarines wound about my head and I wandered over to drop a teensy bit of cash on juicy, nommy, locally grown FROOOT. Blueberries and blackberries, nectarines, tomatoes and golden yellow cherries.

My fingers will be so sticky this afternoon. Need to remember not to gorge myself, though, because I don't want my tummy to be full for yoga class after work. That would totally not help.

It was a really wonderful surprise, because I'm seldom free on weekend mornings to hit a Farmer's Market. And there it was! If I can count on it every Wednesday lunchtime, then I can plan some fresh produce shopping. Win, win, win.

Also, as an option, Bad Seed Farmers Market meets in the Crossroads on Friday evenings (I think they open at 430 and run until 8)

Surprise juiciness is fabulous.

Thank you! I had a nectarine after lunch and brought tomatoes to share at dinner last night. This morning's breakfast features blueberries and blackberries in my yogurt. Still...I think I bought too much of the sort of thing that'll go bad if it's not eaten up in a couple of days.

I'll have to share! And then go back for more! Oh. The. Horror. :)
