Happy thoughts.

From yesterday, because I couldn't really face getting online much last night. At our department's Unauthorized Holiday Gathering, bosslady gave everyone nifty t-shirts. I got one from Veer.com -- A shirt declaring me to be a member of the Very Secret Order of Creatives Understanding , gilded with the Order’s official crest, featuring a multitasking winged octopus sporting a levitating crown. (Picture here: http://www.veer.com/products/merchdetail.aspx?image=VPR0001490)

I can only pray that someday I will be cool enough to wear this t-shirt, but I will note that it probably meets [livejournal.com profile] triadruid's standards for general snugness.

UPDATE: Today's happy thought is that the house is -- finally -- SOLD. As in, the realtor has received payment for her unbelievably complicated and frustrating work over the last 12+ months and the new owners are settling in for Christmas. It remains to be seen whether the mortgage company will hold us liable for the difference on the short sale, but foreclosure has been sidestepped and credit recovery can begin. ::exhale::

Whee, I'm a gold standard! *grin*

You're some kind of standard, yes. (grin) She bought me a size Medium, and the website says the shirts tend to be smallish. Yikes.

Hooray house sale!

OMG YES. I think it would be nice to have 2009 be a year of experiences that are not complicated at all.

Really? I mean, for me some of the worst bits I've dealt with have been complicated, but the best I've enjoyed have been pretty complicated too.

On the other hand, I can appreciate that after this past year you might be wanting a break :) Hope your year is pleasant, whichever way it goes.

Specifically, I'd like a year with significantly fewer *bureaucratic* and financial complications, after the last two years. Argh.

Yes. Pleasant is good, however one defines that.
