This morning, I feel happy because of cinnamon muffins...for a few different reasons:

• because I baked them last night, according to the prophecy, and because I had just the right amount of baking powder left to finish the double batch


• because princessboredom said I was embarrassing her, when I made her carry a plate of muffins to the front office of her school. "You're gonna deliver the goddam Christmas cheer," I growled, and then we started giggling


• because we got the Traditional Christmas Treat Welcome when the little girls and I carried their plates of muffins into their own front office -- "Are those muffins? For me? Yay, muffins!"

Alas, the lack of baking powder (because I *never* remember to check for enough baking powder) means there are no extra cinnamon muffins at the house for adammaker to enjoy when he's working Algebra II review with princessboredom later today. Sorry, man.

It also means that cranberry bread will have to wait for the weekend, when I can decompress after Kira's birthday party. I know you're all very sad about that. :)

BONUS HAPPINESS: Big Bad Vodoo Daddy has a version of "Mr. Heatmiser," which I am listening to on SomaFM's Christmas Lounge. Yay!
