OMG house sale!

While I earnestly hope not to jinx anything, I just can't stand NOT to say something: I just got the call from the title company. They want me to come in at 8 a.m. on Monday to sign the closing documents for the house sale.

What will remain to be seen after this is the degree to which the mortgage company will want to make arrangements for payments to offset the difference between the sale price and what was actually owed. It's not a very big difference (less than $20K, if memory serves), so it's entirely possible (though far from certain) they'll write it off. Still, that's a worry for another day, because the decision about that won't happen until sometime *after* the sale itself.

Yeah. The Realtor says the odds of the write-off/forgiveness happening are vastly better than they would have been even six months ago. We'll have to wait and see, but it's not a pipe dream to hope for that outcome.
