Not so hard.
Oct. 6th, 2008 09:39 amNot so hard to have a great weekend, when there's learning to be done and fun stuff to do. For instance, I learned that my feet, after a day of standing at the beer booth, didn't smell like Stinky Feet. They smelled like beer instead, which is much better. I bet you all wanted to know that.
Gymnastics coaching continues to be more fun than I'd thought it would be. Hard work, but pretty cool, and well worth the effort to defray Sweet Fi's gym costs. (She's decided to dress up as a gymnast for Halloween! Kira Dear-a wants to be a black cat. I can totally get behind the ease of those costume choices. ) As an unexpected benefit, the effort is great activity and seems to be helping me build up my upper-body strength again. Win-win.
I also received the gift of a Queen's Gambit CD, which contains music I'd been wanting to hear, but missed them playing live when I was taking a "walking break" from the beer booth. Ah, well. (It's pretty awesome, to spend the day watching the Dunwoodie Dell stage.) Seems like we had a healthy volume of repeat business and lots of people who tipped us every time. I got to see lots more friends than last time, even. I think I might volunteer again next year, and
princessboredom might be interested in some work shifts (but not at the beer booth). We'll wait and see.
Alas...end-of-day business kept me from getting any Scotch Eggs for the ride home, but now I've got a recipe. Pheer my Scottish breakfast food-making skillz!
Also: Hey,
matchgirl42! I went to put my new CD in the stereo I got from you, and there was a CD already in there. I think it might be yours. Looks like a personal compilation, entitled "Light on the Leaves: A Greenwood Mix." Please let me know, so we can figure out an exchange? Thanks!
