See, the Druids are doing this Thing.
Jul. 18th, 2008 04:24 pmNo, really. It's a Thing. *Thingstide* to be precise.
Wild Hare Grove, ADF, is happy to have been invited by Gaia Community to offer a Druidic high holiday celebration of Thingstide (which is a Nordic version of the holiday known as Lammas or Lughnassadh).
We hope you'll join us on Sunday, August 3rd, at 4 p.m. at Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church. Vikings and outlanders of all ages are invited to join in the games, revelry, feasting, and boasting. Dress for action -- mostly outside, if weather permits. Hats with horns optional. Sunscreen and bug spray recommended. Rough humor virtually guaranteed. Live steel not allowed.
Please bring enough food to share with people who will work up their hunger and thirst in honor of our new patron, Thor! As always, we hope you'll do what you can to reduce waste with re-usable containers and feast gear.
Stay tuned for more details as the event approaches!
