Promises to keep, etc.

Declared in April 2003, expiring in April 2004:
1. become a competent trance leader -- check. Also, I've learned that competence is not always the same as excellence, no matter how hard I try. Note to self: see life lesson about bowling and billiards for clarification.

2. learn to speak key ritual phrases in Gaelic -- getting there. I'm learning that it isn't as simple as I thought because no two druidy people can agree on what the phrases ought to be and how they should be pronounced. However, given that I think the godden appreciate boldness as well as precision, I've decided to speak my phrases loudly and with gusto.

3. get to know the ogham well enough to read omens without referencing the book -- getting ready to revisit this now. Starting to make ogham for the bazaar was a nice renewal of that effort.

Promise made at Samhain 2003 -- a formal dedication to the concept of the Pillar of Mercy, which has appealed to me since the ritual teams dedication back in April. In support of this, I've decided to devote some study to Kabbalah in the coming year. For the sake of balance, I also continue to slog my way through Prometheus Rising.

You may now all say, "You crazy, sexy bitch." But don't you dare say it like it's a bad thing.
