saffronhare: (Bring it on.)

I'm pretty sure there are other folks on my friends list who have done most of what I've done. The stuff I've done that I'm *sure* nobody else has done is stuff I prefer not to remember anyway. But here's a start -- I tried to focus on the fun, so if somebody shared the experience, it's a Good Thing. :)

Found all over the place:

* Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done.
* See if anybody else responds with "I've done that."
[optional] * Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.

  1. Driven a tank.

  2. Organized/participated in a breastfeeding protest at Hooter's.

  3. Walked every blessed step of the Breast Cancer 3-Day.

I have never driven a tank but my mom participated in a Marine amphibian tank excercise at Camp Lejeaune...~BG~

You know, if one had a mind for innuendo, that statement could be awfully funny. Just saying.

It's tricky to imply accidental innuendo to a friend's mom, but yeah. Hoped you might get a giggle out of that. ::grin::

Oh Honey, my mom was The Bomb. She had a Sheik pick her up once in a private plane, take her to Atlanta, take her to lunch and then bring her back before I got home from a school field trip!

She was awesome!

Pam and I were talking about the three-day just the other day. That's one of the most profound things she's ever done.

Me too. It was a Long Walk, in every sense of the word. Like 60 miles of labyrinth, with six months of training beforehand. :)

Does an APC count? Grenade launchers instead of a main gun--the tracks all run the same, though.

I was a mechanic in a Mechanized Engineer Battalion. They licensed me to drive APCs before I ever got to drive one, just because I was cross-training on fixing the things. Came time to move one down the highway after a demo and I was the only soldier there licensed for it, although I had yet to actually drive one. After the first car got smashed, it went rather smooth....

[No cars were killed in making that trip. Just so ya know.]

I don't think it "counts" as quite the same thing, but it's still pretty awesome. :)

I threw something at a smallish tank once. I know its a long shot but if you were driving it, I apologise unreservedly :)

Oh, that's FUNNY. It was a training exercise in Kentucky. I ran over a few trees, for which I suppose I should apologize.
