1. When was a time when you were the most in fear of your life?
There have been a plenty of times when I looked back upon an episode and realized that things could have gone very badly. But the time that stands out most sharply was when I was in labor with Rowan. It had been nearly 48 hours, I was running a fever, and my body just quit. She was stuck, and I couldn't even feel contractions anymore. Things were happening all around me, but I felt so lost in the pain and exhaustion that I was convinced I wouldn't ever get out on the other side of it. I didn't realize how terrified I was until I was pregnant with Fiona, and began to dread going back to that place again.
2. If you could have 24 hours where you could experience the most wonderful, luxurious, hedonistic, things which would be only for you - no expenses spared - what would it be and where?
Oh, gosh. Can we say I've already slept really well before this experience? Because I'd hate to sleep all that time away, but good sleep is so blissful that I wouldn't want to leave it off the list. I think it would have to involve some time at the beach, swimming in the ocean, and some sailing. Maybe one of those spas that had a room overlooking the ocean, where I could get a massage with the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze caressing my skin. Fresh food, sweet company, just enough wine or beer to keep me a bit unwound. And then an evening at a nice restaurant, with great seats at the ballet or going dancing. Not alone, but not crowded either. When I think about what I want most, it's not particularly hedonistic. The sort of indulgences I yearn for right now involve peace and comfort and sweetness.
3. When you were growing up, what was your favorite TV show?
Family legend says I loved I Love Lucy, though I don't remember much of it. When I was in grade school, we lived in Europe and didn't get much American TV at all, but I always cuddled up with my father to watch Little House on the Prairie. We would joke with each other about crying (we both cried, nearly every episode). That was probably my favorite show, if there was one. Watching Miami Vice with Dutch subtitles (when I was a teenager) was another high point.
4. If it is printable, what is the most disgusting thing you have ever done?
I am fortunate not to have done many disgusting things, thank goodness. I'd say the most disgusting experience so far would be going through the gas tent in basic training. Snot everywhere. Yuck. Just about everything else that might have been disgusting was also short-lived, but the gas tent? It lasted forever.
5. What inanimate object is most valuable to you and why?
Are you just asking me this because you're helping me to move? Things get lost or broken. I try not to be too attached. There are probably a few things I'd be heartbroken to lose: The teacups from my grandmother, my Durer Hare. I honestly don't know.

1. What's your favorite Bo Diddley song?
*With Bo I did not have a favorite. I just liked his style and the image he projected. I need his hat, LOL
2. Could you recommend to me a book you think I'd enjoy reading? (Think summer-weight reading, pretty please.)
* “Temple of my Familial” by Alice Walker, I loved it. You will understand if you get to reading it.
3. How about some music?
*As much of a passion for me, as dance is for you. Speaking of dance, perhaps the next time Alvin Alley’s troupe comes to town. You and I my friend chould go? I would love to go see them with someone who really appreciates the art.
4. What adventures has your dog had lately? I loved the story about the big black dog getting another name.
* He is the rock star of the block still. We were worried about his bout with the nightly runs. So did go to the vet. His blood work and stool sample were clear. We stopped the Pedigree for his wet food. That seems to have solved the problem.Nolal and I are now Grandma & Pa on the block, (Oh happy, Happy joy, joy). The walkers of Pooky Tinkle Rocky, Formerly known as Carla. The transgender wonder dog.
5. What do you have planned for the summer? Anything special?
* The plan is to simplify life as much as we can. To recognize drama in people, places and avoid them.
To spend time taking care of the summer veggie garden we planted. As we work on being more healthy on all levels/ Going up to see the oldest son in IL, where he is working for the Springfield POPO while finishing grad school. I am so happy with how both the boys have developed and the paths they seem to be on.
