Of interest to KC area folks only.
May. 28th, 2008 09:15 amI've got a few items that could use new homes before moving day (you know, other than the Dingo, because she's spoken for already). I'll repost this for another day or so, in an attempt to avoid having to dive into the morass of Craigslist and Freecycle. I'll attempt to save anything left over for the GC garage sale at the end of June, but being able to store it in the interval is uncertain, so I make no promises.
- A computer desk with nooks and crannies and a printer shelf, mild to moderate mileage but still quite sturdy. I'd like to get $25 for it, if possible. This is one heavy mutha, so you'll need help and something bigger than my Liberty to pick it up. It was darn near too heavy for me and
princessboredom to move at all. Just getting it out to the garage was quite the production! Available immediately. - Two twin-size beds (with frames, box springs, and mattresses). One is much firmer than the other, but both are in decent shape. I'd like to get $20 each, but the beds will not be available until June 15th. (The girls are transitioning to a set of bunkbeds instead, to conserve floor space in their new room.)

A bedroom dresser, with very useful drawers of varying sizes and depths.Dibs called by
zylch. It's a low, long dresser of an indeterminate greenish-goldish color (sort of aged bronze?). Well constructed. Make a fair offer, or just offer to take it off my hands. Available as early as this weekend, if you're motivated. - A kitchen table, kind of farmhouse-style. White legs with a pretend "butcher block" top that's seen better days. (I keep a vinyl tablecloth on top.) The legs will come off pretty easily for transportation. This item is free, and available immediately to whomever can come get it at some point while I'm home of an evening.

A sizable bookshelf, made byDibs called by
agrnmn and his dad during his Boy Scout days.
breathofgold. Real wood construction, hardy survivor of many moves. It's simply too large in scale for either apartment. (Offered with permission of
agrnmn.) Available immediately. No particular price or barter in mind for it, but plan on two people to carry it down the stairs. Something around 4' high and 4' wide, painted blue for the moment, with the standard depth of a good bookshelf. -
Another sizable bookshelf, made of pine.Dibs called by
zylch. Relatively unfinished and huge. Like, taller than me and about 4-5 feet wide. It's been in the basement, so the bottom edges need some cleaning up, and you'll need help getting it up the stairs, but WOW can this baby hold some books. Available immediately. Free to a good home. -
A sort of toy box/cedar chest type piece, except not of cedar.Dibs called by
chainwoman. Primed but not painted. Ideal for refinishing as a window seat kind of thing. Plywood construction, perhaps also from
agrnmn's scouting days. Two people needed to move it, but mostly because it's cumbersome and in the basement. Available immediately. Free to a good home.
