The sound you do not hear is me, walking into walls.
Kept being awakened last night by a miserable PB, whose hand hurts, and who was sweet enough to inform me *every time* her hand bothered her. Poor kid. We'll probably be getting an x-ray today. Then was roused early by extra elbows in my bed: Princess Pixie and the Dingo, who were both nervous about the rumbly weather. There are worse things, but UGH.
So, so tired. And now I'm all sniffly/sneezy with an itchy throat. Feh.
ETA: For bonus fun, it's a Bad Hair Day. As in, "I should wear a hat" bad. YAY.
Further ETA: No fracture for PB (whew). Just a lovely sprain. Doc says she shouldn't pick up any swords or spears for a little while. :)

Date: 2008-02-05 04:25 pm (UTC)She was pretty ferocious with the Amtgard fighting on Sunday and mentioned some soreness in her right hand Sunday night. We both figured it was "hurt" rather than "injured," if that makes any sense. But the pain increased during the day yesterday such that she went to the school nurse for Motrin and an ice pack. Nurse (who is a former Army nurse) said it looked suspicious; it's since developed a bit of discoloration and swelling. We'll be getting it checked out this afternoon.
It's her right hand, so I figure it's worth a copay for the assurance that nothing's wrong. If there *is* something wrong, then we'll want to know sooner rather than later.
Edit: She's certainly having a rougher time of it than I am; I mean, I'm just tired. I'm not the one in pain...and I *do* understand what it's like to try to function with one's dominant hand/arm out of commission. Just getting the crankiness out now, so I can be more fully present (and awake!) for her in a few hours.
