Or, as much adventure as I wanted, anyway. Not nearly so much with the aggressive napping as I'd envisioned, but I think I wouldn't change a thing.

Friday night, I got to do a bit of garbing and crocheting with the little Amtgard group I play with sometimes. Wow. They don't make me feel OLD, but they seem really YOUNG sometimes. Don't know if that makes any sense. There was a duct tape hat, chain mail, a sewing machine as old as Moses (but not quite as old as Noah, since it didn't have a foot-pedal), and a rousing discussion of how best to attach ears to one's combat gear. Good times, though my dilettante geekiness gave out after a couple of hours.

Which reminds me: I need to dig out the pattern and fabric to start constructing the umpty-gazillion teddy bear leotards that'll be needed for Princess !Kaboom's meet in early March.

Saturday featured a lot of processions. A macro-progressus, if you will. Items from the garden shed (thanks to a surprise visit from[livejournal.com profile] akaashben) processed from the back yard to the garage and driveway. The file cabinet in the basement (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] diermuid) processed upstairs and out to the garage. Very glad he's the sort of fellow who carries 50' of rope.

The sun rapidly processed across the sky and to some other place, leaving the lot of folks who gathered to rummage very chilly and in need of some restorative tea. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] druidevo, [livejournal.com profile] zylch, [livejournal.com profile] lilia_blackbear, and [livejournal.com profile] stregalunae, there's a lot less in the garage now. And, with the help of [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn, the garage looks a lot more like a staging area and a lot less like a dumping ground. So that's all good.

NOTE: If you wanted to rummage and couldn't make it Saturday, I'd be happy to open up the garage for you at some mutually agreeable time another day soon. Trash day is Friday...I'll be putting some stuff out and starting to shuffle other stuff off to donation locations over the weekend, but it'll probably take more than one weekend.

I was SMRT enough with my shoulder during the day that, after a nice hot bath, I was in good shape to attend Brian's birthday party for a little while. The party was peopled with friendly friends, and friendly cats who liked to sit on my lap when I visited the bathroom. Disconcerting affection, that. Had a really great, low-impact time among people who generally set me at ease. YAY. Felt very ready to leave after a few hours and slept like a rock.

With the girls gone for the day and a showing scheduled for Monday, Sunday seemed like an opportune time to un-Christmas the house and generally get things back on track for show-worthiness after the holidays. I didn't get dressed, and subsisted on cereal and tapioca (like ya do), but slow-motion puttering got the job done. Regrettably, the people who were going to see the house cancelled this morning. But that doesn't make things *less* prepared. It's good to have thing back to a good maintenance level.

How's that for Cancerian Adventure? Jump back. Ha.
