A wonderful, terrible thought -- triggered by looking at lovely housewares with [livejournal.com profile] fionnabhar this afternoon.

See, we were at Pottery Barn, and I was walking by the little computer kiosk people use for their wedding and gift registries. I exclaimed, Hey! There should be such a thing as a Divorce Registry.

You know...where folks can register for the stuff they'll need, now that they're splitting up household stuff and setting up separate residences and exploring personal tastes that have evolved since the wedding registry.*

I'm sure it reflects well upon [livejournal.com profile] fionnabhar that she thought it was perhaps more awful than funny. And maybe not so well upon me that I came home and giggled about the idea with [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn. But hey. You gotta laugh about these things. Right?

*The topic did not come up again when we were looking at lingerie. But, now that I think about it...::grin::

I think we could start a fabulous boost to the economy.

I thought the same thing exactly when I was getting my divorce! It is a brilliant plan, really brilliant.

I think that's a very clever idea. Having been down that road, it's amazing what needs to be replaced/duplicated when people split up.

Yes, I totally second this. Even now that a few years have passed, I find myself saying things to the next door neighbor like when he asks, "Oh, I'm pretty sure I have a ratchet set you can borrow." I get such a strange look when I return after searching the tool shelves and say, "No, apparently I had one in my previous life."

I thought camo pants WERE your lingerie... it seems to be when you are the most relaxed anyway.

Someone doesn't know someone else as well as someone thinks someone does, does someone?

I fight with her, that is when *I* see her most relaxed. Now if you have knowledge of other relaxing activities with her, then it has been kept pretty well clear of the gossip mill, as I had never suspected that of you two. 8-P
