Following Through
Jul. 19th, 2007 09:48 pmI'll get to the part where I invite folks to post randomness to get questions from me at any moment now. In the meantime:
Here are answers to the questions
lilia_blackbear asked:
1) Who is/are your patron/s if any?
There are days when it feels like just about any deity I've ever worked with has their thumb on my head (which, I suppose, is their prerogative...being deities and all). However, these days I'm working very closely with Aengus mac Og as my nearest and dearest patron. When I'm doing a lot of divination, then nobody but Andraste will do. Before that, there was Herne; before that, there was Artemis.
2) I have a vague idea of your job. What exactly do you do for a living?
I'm the creative director at a direct marketing agency, where I oversee all the copywriting. This is not to say I'm the best writer around. I just happen to be a very *effective* writer, a talented strategist, and one golden goddess of a project manager. There's another creative director who oversees the design side, which I don't know shite about, other than to say, Um. How about maybe right-justifying that? Or making something blue?
3) Can you describe your first time aspecting? If you can, then please do...
The first time I'm conscious of having aspected was when I performed the role of Artemis in a production of Hippolytus at KU while I was in college (see above, re: patronage). I felt about twelve feet tall and wasn't scared of things I'd normally be scared of, like heights. My voice sounded like it was coming from somewhere else entirely. And my vision seemed very out-of-body, if that makes any sense -- quite different from a typical performance experience, when I'd normally feel ultra-present. My memory of it is all slideshow-like, which is a clue to me that I wasn't really in the driver's seat. Every time, it's a little bit different, you know? I call it "extreme divination."
4) Why doggies and not kitties?
My family has always had doggies. I understand their thinking and their behavior much better than I do kitties, who always seem a bit alien to me in a not-pleasant kind of way. Also, I'm allergic to kitties. That's not to say I don't *like* them. I've met some marvelous kitties and enjoy nuzzling and petting them, even though it means Doom. It's just that not being able to breathe around certain animals greatly reduces their appeal to me, as does having to be drugged to the gills to be around them for any length of time.
The reaction depends on the cat, and I can't really identify a pattern for predictive dosing. I just sort of have to wait and see, the first time. In
biscuitgod's house, I need an inhaler; at
capriciouslass's place, it's Benadryl; with
8elements and , it's both. I seem to be okay with both Psyche (at EHQ) and Nutmeg (at the Burrow). Thankfully, I'm also okay with Star's cats, but I have to be careful how much I hug people at her parties, because the cat-ness of other people who attend has driven me to use an inhaler before. ::shrug:: There. Isn't that so much more than you wanted to know?
5) Will you ever let your hair grow out long again or does shorter hair suit you better?
Probably. It's been this short before; it's been down to my rear end before, too. Growing hair is something I do very well and I've been pleased with my hair in a number of different lengths and styles. It's good hair, despite the fact that I never really do much with it. At some point, I'll get tired of it being like this (or forget to get it cut) and then it will change again. Shorter hair suits me just fine for now.
