ETA: In mildly related news, I've just gotten my copy of How to Think about Weird Things, which is one of the suggested bits of reading for my GSP. Since I'm having a hard time getting back into In Search of the Indo-Europeans, I think I'll start on this one instead. Seems like as good a time as any. :)

I feel like an idiot very uneducated right now. I have heard others speak of "Mercury Retrograde" and my implied understanding of it is a shift in the position of the planets. Other than that (if that even makes sense) I'm not sure what that statement means.

Is it a lot of UPG? Why dimes (is it Hermes/Mercury)?

You're right on the dimes. As for Mercury Retrograde, I'm horrible at explaining it since I mostly don't believe in it -- even as it fucks with me royally. You'd be better off googling it, or getting an explanation from somebody better versed in that lore than I am.
