1) How old do you wish you were? Once I was old enough to be legal for certain things, like running for President, I ceased to care.
2) Where were you when 9/11 happened? Leaving the house for work, and then in the office to watch events unwind. I spent the day surrounded by people who (bless their innoncent little hearts) couldn't understand why I kept waiting for more planes after the first two. Sometimes I hate knowing as much about those things as I do, but I was raised on it. Gah.
3) What do you do when vending machines steal your money? I offer a prayer to Hermes and thank him for claiming the offering. :)
4) Do you consider yourself kind? Not really, but it still bothers me to hear somebody say I'm unkind. There's some middle ground, right?
5) If you had to get a tattoo, where would it be?
I'd like to have one right over my heart, or possibly on the back of my shoulder. Can't make up my mind.
6) Do you speak a foreign language?
Yes. I still dream in German sometimes. I speak a smattering of Flemish; I can eat and shop and get around in France. I also have a splendid Russian accent.
7) Do you know your neighbors?
We have a friendly, waving sort of acquiantance. They're nice folks.
8.) What do you consider a vacation?
I think "vacation" is more in the state of mind than in the location or activity. I prefer vacations to have no clocks or alarms or computers, and plenty o'sleep. And stories about unexpected happenings. Plus: Waffle House. Vacations have to have a Waffle House.
9) Do you follow your horoscope?
I'll check it for entertainment value, but astrology isn't really a divination tool I'm attuned to.
11) Are you touchy feely?
I'm a kinesthetic thinker, so touch is very important to me. But I'm very careful about who I touch and who is allowed to touch me, and in what ways. Duh. Cancerian.
12) Do you believe that opposites attract?
Opposites can sure fascinate, but I don't know if it translates to better long-term stability. Compatible dysfunctions are the same way.
13) Dream job?
Nine Fires Press, LLC. It's happening fast as a speeding oak, but it's happening.
14) Favorite channel(s)?
Dunno. I don't watch much TV. When I do watch, I'll usually start with Spike or HGTV and then scan for something I want to watch.
15) Favorite place to go on weekends?
Home. Sleep.
16) Showers or baths?
Baths, hands down.
17) Do you paint your nails
Once in a while.
18) Do you trust people easily?
It's easy to trust people to behave as they have always behaved. I do not, however, allow familiarity with any ease at all.
19) What are your phobias?
If I define "phobia" as a fear that prevents me from functioning, I'd say heights. Just about anything else I can gut through.

I keep a few different handwritten journals, but it's sort of a love-hate thing.
22) Where would you rather be right now?
At the ocean.
24) Heavy or light sleeper?
I'm an Olympic Sleeper. Relatively light sleeper at the beginning of the night; very serious about it after 3 a.m.
25) Are you paranoid?
Not really. I think paranoia takes a certain kind of egocentricity of which I'm scornful. This is not to say I'm egocentric -- but paranoia is a particular...er, dialect? of it.
26) Are you impatient?
I can be endlessly patient, but I am uncomfortable with things unresolved or decisions unmade.
27) Who can you relate to?
These days, it's hard to say. I find myself relating less well to people I think I should relate to, and relating more to people with whom I'd rather not have a lot in common.
28) How do you feel about interracial couples?
I'm making that face now, where I think a person is an idiot for even asking the question.
29) Have you been burned by love?
Oh, yes. And I wouldn't trade it for the world.
30) What's your life motto?
It's in flux right now. (No, that's not the motto. My motto is in flux.) I have several of them, really, depending on the role.

Tossing and turning, not sleeping.

I don't think I've ever received a text message.
34) Whose bed did you sleep in last night?
My own. I love my bed.

It's an odd sort of grey-green, a little brighter than my eyes.

freckles, grace, and worries that are not my own

Burgundy. Tomorrow is clean sheet day, when they will change to sort of a green and purple print.
39) How much cash do you have on you right now?
Nothing.
40) What is your favorite part of the chicken?
crispy, seasoned skin. yum.

My favorite places are not cities.

I can go back to sleep.

Not gonna. And I don't think anybody got me to join LJ, either. I was curious and just went ahead and did it.

Spagetti and meatballs. With more cheese than most people would think wise.

Charleston Chew, frozen and cracked. Or smarties, sucked until they disintegrate.
