Well, you don't get the second line of that cadence, that's for sure. I swear, I was working on it all weekend and didn't come up with anything satisfactory. Gah. Anyway. This weekend's mileage was 26 (that's 15 on Saturday and 11 on Sunday). If you're the sponsor of a body part for the 3-Day, here's some information that might matter to you :

~ I expect to use at least two pairs of socks every day for the walking portion of my day. For distance walking, cotton is not my friend...gotta use the moisture-wicking performance socks and change them after about ten miles. Also, these performance socks only seem to come as anklets (the ones you kind of can't see above the shoes). So. If you were planning to decorate socks, it might not work, depending on your approach. Some sort of a wristband or bandana around my ankles (as long as it's light and smooth) might work. Also, I'll be using at least two different pairs of shoes. Perhaps three.

~ If you were planning to decorate your designated body part with any sort of markers or paint, please know that I sweat like a demon who sweats a lot. This doesn't bother me at all -- it's a very important indicator that my body is hydrated and cooling itself efficiently. But it might affect your choice of medium for body art. Also, I'll be schmearing on the sunscreen like nobody's business.

~ I will probably need to have at least three different sports bras on hand, due to stink and wetness. I have two right now. When I do my "two-a-day" walks like I've been doing on Sundays, I can't stand to keep the wet bra on or put it back on. I don't know if I'll feel like I need to change bras during the day on the walk. On the days when I just crank out a lotta miles all at once, keeping one bra on for the duration seems okay. I'll evaluate this again as mileage increases.

~ Hats continue to make me crazy, though I'm willing to give in and wear one when the weather is stoopid hot. My preferred style is a soft and only mildly floppy, not so horribly wide-brimmed boonie hat.

~ Shirt style does not seem to be a concern, other than making sure it's appropriate for the weather and that it can take a lot of sweat. Short sleeves, sleeveless, and tank tops have all worked just fine. I have a stunning array of different tan lines across my shoulders now.

~ Underwear is going to need some management. Again, cotton is not my friend. Microfiber totally rocks. This is the one area where I'm having some trouble with chafing, but I can't tell if it's the panties or the shorts. Bet you're glad to know that. :)

Today is a rest day, which I'm taking Rly Verrah Seriously. This week's mileage tapers off a teensy bit, followed by a few weeks of build-up, and then a couple of weeks of tapering off. Eight weeks to go!

walk 26 miles and what do you get...

... a nasty-ass bra and five buckets of sweat?

Hey, it rhymes and it scans, what more do you want on a Monday morning?

Hair decoration is liable to be that spray-on color stuff, unless it would objectionable. You might also be interested to know that Backwoods (NW corner of 119th and Quivira) sells anti-chafing stuff in a deoderant-stick-like form.

not bad, not bad

Spray-on color might be logistically difficult, what with sweat and the need to shower, but lemme know what you're thinking and we'll talk. Making note of the anti-chafing resource. Thanks!

Nicole Turner gonna take a little trip,
sold her boobies and sold her hips.
Jump up, shoes on, walk out the door...
Thank the gods there's no day 4.
If I should falter before I'm done,
I'll rest for a bit then go for a run.

Catch me right after the next Cub Camp and I could write you a whole songbook.

Every where I go-o
people wanna know-o
Who I am-m
and why I do this...
My name is Nicole Turner and I walk to save the boobs,
You should check the website once you're off utube.
People think I'm wacky for walking for my breasts,
It's the thing I do and who are YOU to try and second guess?

I can put those in a voicepost if you're not sure of the cadences I ripped.

Ok, need to stop or I'll be here all day.

::applause::

No need to voice post -- I think I recognize the tunes. Well done!

Last time I did, it ended up on a random podcast and some guy wanted to kick my ass. Weird.

How are you for shoes? Have you worn yours out during training?

Got new shoes for my birthday -- two pair. Socks and sports bras, however, I'm short on.
