yay, Saturday
Jun. 17th, 2006 04:25 pmA day filled with simple pleasures, and a bit of sunburn.
Got a marvelous lot of sleep last night and rested so very deeply that I was unaware of
agrnmn coming to bed at some point (after he graciously tucked me in early). My stars, but that was wonderful.
The ever-helpful
fionnabhar came to watch the girls so I could go for my 10-mile training walk this morning. (Thank you!) As I left the house, she and Princess Sticky were discussing the merits of continence in public education.
Walking was great -- I'm really beginning to count on these Saturday sessions to keep my motivation high and the emotional boost I get from feeling active and successful generally helps the whole day go better. Yay. Even my mother has noticed the difference -- she mentioned how I was such a monster to live with between sports seasons in high school. Once workouts started up again, I was a much happier bunny. Guess some things hold true all our lives, huh?
A minor sunburn was sustained, even though I applied sunscreen before I left. Oh, well. It's not too painful and I kind of like a little bit of color to my cheeks. Keeps people from asking if I'm tired or ill, I suppose. Still, note to self: pick up sports sunscreen, because the waterproof stuff apparently isn't really very sweat-proof. UPDATE: redness is getting more impressive with each passing hour. I'm gonna be paying for that lapse in judgement for a few days. ::facepalm::
Now, I'm spending a homebody afternoon with the girls, getting some chores done and generally hanging out. We're in crazy-busy season at work again, so this time is precious. I set the alarm as the last one out of the building on Friday and expect that to happen at least three days a week for the next eight weeks or so. That means I'll see them while I'm getting ready for work in the mornings and possibly before their bedtime but not much otherwise. Ditto for time with hubby. Saturdays are going to be "family days," as much as time and sanity will allow. At least I've got a nice fat vacation week coming up!
I don't think I had much of a point with this. Just chattering away about things. Must remember to shower soon. The sweat from my walk is combining with the special grunge one acquires from cleaning. I might not be able to go to bed with myself, gnawmean?
