Heyla. So, more than a year ago (give or take), I set out a plan for progress in several rooms of the house. Progress has been thooper-thlow, but we managed to hit some milestones this weekend.

Upstairs bathroom has been fully sanded now. Next steps: two coats of drywall plaster on the walls, then painting! I took it slow with the sanding, but the vibrations are pretty rough, even after [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn adjusted something that reduced them a bit. It's one of those B&D Mighty Mouse things, but I still needed both hands to control it. Regrettably, it may be several days before I can hold any vibrating thing in my hands. :) After painting, there's just a bit of hardware to replace and floor to update and it's all done! It won't take a lot of money or time, either. Very cool.

Baseboards along the stairs have been fully sanded, and have both coats of light brown done. One coat of dark brown and then touch-up, and it'll be ready to seal. Upstairs doorways still need deglazing and painting. Also, light fixture at the top of the stairs needs to be replaced. Hallway and entryway are touched up, striped, and ready to seal. We're going to need a lot more polyurethane before we can finish that part, but we can sure get started. Perhaps, by the time we get more of that, the stairs will be ready for sealing too. Then, it's on to the ceiling, once we decide how we're going to paint that suckah. The hallways are nearly finished, except for the doors, which could get done in a single frenzied weekend sometime soon.

Dining room cabinet doors are half mounted. If [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn's activities this morning are any indication, that could be finished today too. They'll need a bit of touch-up and then they'll be ready for sealing too. With the exception of a little bit of hardware, that means the dining room is finished.

I think either the bedroom or the living room will be next in the line-up. Or possibly one of the upstairs bedrooms? I don't know. The downstairs bathroom or kitchen will take quite a bit more money -- there's nothing else that would need more than a hundred or so per area, at most, which is about as ambitious as our budget gets right now. Still, it's happy progress. There will be hella painting to be done once we refinish the wood floors and have to install quarter-round...that will really make a difference in how finished everything looks, I bet. But that's in the five-year plan, dontcha know.
