And momma says, "woot."
May. 14th, 2006 10:18 amIt's great that the kids are getting old enough to be mostly self-propelling in the morning. The Princess Squad (along with the visiting and lovely
dragon_sword) managed things so I did not have to get out of bed until almost 10 a.m.
Princess !Kaboom let the dog out and fed her. The dog went along with this plan Just Fine. Princess Sticky (with her Hand of Entropy) changed her own damn pull-up. Then, the two of them decided that they wanted a "breakfast snack" of a chewy granola bar before "real breakfast," so all I had to do was open the box for them. They even carried the Costco-sized box to me and then got the wrappers in the trash. (No, my husband didn't marry me for my cooking...why do you ask?) Princess Boredom and guest came downstairs in time to handle "real breakfast" for the little ones, and
agrnmn arrived home shortly thereafter. I didn't exactly remain asleep all this time, but I did get to hunker under the blankets and Not Get Up. Kids, that was great.
Now, after a lovely breakfast of broccoli-cheese quiche, bacon, and a brownie on the side (sweet kids, I *had* to eat it) with some fresh coffee, I'm ready to change clothes and get down to that painting I never managed yesterday. Also, there is the promise that my driveway will be filled with mulch someday very soon. This is wildly exciting. In my world, a gift of dirt for Mother's Day is definitely kosher. Hey, I'm a Cancerian Druid of Irish descent. What can I say?
UPDATE: Copper striping is done in the hallway. Just some touch-up to do along the edges, and it'll be ready to seal with polyurethane in 24 hours. Water fountain has been relocated and repaired, and is now burbling happily in a brand-new spot in the yard (a project I hadn't thought of as very important, but which turned out to be Very Satisfying, so kudos to
agrnmn for that). I've got five miles to walk later this afternoon, but now we might go get started on sanding down the walls in the upstairs bathroom. Because I want to be super-stinky. After a bit of lunch, of course.
