What a lovely and soft rainy day. Having a hard time settling into my work day due to random and distracted processing, so I'm going to actually set some of it down.

Saturday went so much better than I'd feared, and some parts were even better than I'd hoped. We got some timely kid help from several folks whose LJ names I'm too lazy to type, but thank you! -- those hours of respite made all the difference. Also, we have some pretty new dishes and glasses, so we can now set the table with matching dishes for more than four people and serve beverages in something other than jelly jars. It's lovely.

My ankles really, really hurt. Like, I-don't-wanna-walk-at-all kind of hurt. Not sprained or swollen or discolored. They just feel...um, uncushioned? Hm. Today is technically a rest day from walk training, so I think I'll mostly not walk if I can help it. :) Also, will need to work purchase of new walking/running shoes up a bit higher on the priority list. The ones I have now are about three years old, and I'm doing a lot of walking on asphalt.

Ritual yesterday was lots of fun, particularly once Princess !Kaboom stopped trying to hide behind me. See, at one point last week, somebody told me I looked solid and lovely, like an oak tree. I managed to smile and thank him, because he clearly meant it as a compliment, but it took up space in my brain for days. I decided to work on that metaphor and went to the ritual dressed as an oak tree (context: it was an Earth Day ritual, and we were supposed to dress up as a Being of some sort). I felt strong and gracious and wise and beautiful...and, for once, I think that's how I looked. Must put that day on the calendar.

Finally, I heard Michael Buble's version of Save the Last Dance for Me on the radio on the way to work and was absolutely swept away by the richness and romance of the arrangement. I sat in the parking lot, singing and rhumba-ing away in my seat, until it was over. Gotta get me some o'dat. :)

I have that CD, if you would like a copy. I had a similar reaction to his voice and arrangements.

Oh, that would be wonderful -- thank you!

Note to self: Gather those Huna resources for [livejournal.com profile] capriciouslass and [livejournal.com profile] 8elements. They've been very patient, but must be getting twitchy by now.

Yay on new dishes! (and if by chance you're purging the jelly jars to make room for the pretty new glasses, please consider my kitchen volunteered as a dumping ground. I just don't eat enough jelly to generate my own. Reduce, reuse, recycle, and all that.)

We still use the jelly jars, but we have more than we need. I'll be happy to get some over to you relatively soon (and by this, I mean "in the next few weeks").

Whenever is cool, I obviously haven't died of dehydration yet :-) And should it not manage to happen before I leave, [livejournal.com profile] niveus_tigris will have keys.

Thanks!
