Well, the poll indicates that there's solid support for sponsorship of body parts, with a bake sale coming in second. It's time to start letting folks have a piece of me...metaphorically speaking.

This could be tricksy. I mean, I've gotta figure out how to assign sponsorship value to different parts -- and figure out how to indicate somebody's sponsorship. Maybe I'll get a bright pink Sharpie and write your name on the appropriate part for walk day? Certain body parts leave a lot of room to write, so maybe you'll want to inscribe something yourself?

You should know that [livejournal.com profile] lulumai already nabbed a part for herself, though it's up to me to name the part. (Honey, you'd better speak up quick!)

Perhaps I open up bidding for sponsorship of a particular part at a certain minimum amount, and let you guys duke it out from there. Here's what I'm thinking in terms of parts up for grabs. I'd like to open up bidding before tomorrow noon, so speedy feedback would be greatly appreciated.

right foot ($10 starting bid)
left foot ($10 starting bid)
right leg ($25 starting bid)
left leg ($25 starting bid)
hips - single unit ($50 starting bid)
ass - single unit ($75 starting bid)
right breast ($100 starting bid)
left breast ($100 starting)
right arm ($25 starting bid)
left arm ($25 starting bid)
belly belly belly ($25 starting bid)
spine ($50 starting bid)
hair ($50 starting bid)

What parts are missing? What parts would you like to see re-valued?

All gifts are welcome, but this is here specifically to make it possible for people who mostly can't swing big gifts to get involved. After all, breast cancer doesn't care if you're broke. Bake sales and other opportunities to curry my favor will come later, if this is a bit steep for you. I'm also perfectly happy to accept additional gifts from people who have already donated. :) Give early, give often, I say.

Also, and...your employer may be willing to match your charitable giving. If you give online (which is what I prefer), then you'll get documentation very quickly and can submit it to your company for matching. I think there may even be some sort of handy-dandy link there to help you. (Note to self: check that out.)

You should put your parts up on ebay. Who knows maybe Golden Palace will sponsor a part, they always seem to be interested in fun ways to spend their money on ebay.

There are not many husbands in the world who would say that, dear. Ebay would add to the cost per dollar raised, though, so that's why I'm avoiding it. I'd rather have all of the donations actually go to the cause, rather than administrative costs. :)
