Blood and tears greeted me at the door last night.

Seems Princesses Boredom and Sticky had a collision on the porch involving the sky chair, the concrete floor, and a face. Everyone is fine, though Princess Boredom does not think this is funny at all and will not thank me if she finds out I'm telling anybody about it. So...shush. :)

I'm not certain exactly how it happened, but it sounded like a genuinely unfortunate and calamitous accident. They're both going through clumsy phases right now and I suppose it was inevitable. PB is crushed, and so is (very likely) PS's nose. That's right: the littlest is sporting a swollen and discolored nose, a couple of mild shiners, a fat lip, and a lovely bruise under her chin. I suspect she's got a teensy-weensy fracture in her teensy-weensy nose and there's not a damn thing to be done about it.

Poor kid went to bed with a soft/gel ice pack last night. There doesn't seem to be anything seriously misshapen; the bleeding stopped and she can breathe through both nostrils, so I'm not particularly alarmed. Just taking after her mom, that's all.

Real funny, though, that [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn will be taking her out and about with him today -- they'll be visiting KU to get his transcript and then delivering it to the KCK school district office. He promises he'll try to look respectable.

He's knows to take it the Indian Springs center and not downtown, right?

And sorry about the owies. I think it's good that PB doesn't think it's funny. That'd be evil and all.

Unless it has to go to personnel, and not Barb's office. Then it's downtown. I think.

Helpful, am I not?

I'm not helpful at all, since I have no idea where he'd intended to take it and can't reach him right now anyway. I know he did speak with Barb yesterday. It's also possible that, if he takes it to the wrong place, the friendly people there will point him in the right direction -- one advantage to bringing it in person instead of sending it through the mail. We'll see. :)

I think you'd get a more accurate picture of the ritual from the minds of the EiR class who did it with me. Ask Via, Debbie, Brian, or Liz. :)

Per [livejournal.com profile] saffronhare response to your comment, we can talk about it tonight if you want... :-)

Ok, maybe it's just my personal sickness coming through, but you need a picture of that in the transition from purple to yellow-green and black. I have a picture (a set, really) of Diva from when she went stair-diving down the concrete steps in base housing. She looked absolutely hideous... and when she a guy who does not impress me comes calling to take her to the prom, I might just ask if he's seen her "without makeup".

Ok, I will probably never do that, but it is a wonderful bargaining chip to hedge against any boy calling that might be shallow.

Ahhh... the trials of childhood. I still carry a scar on my forehead from an unfortunate run-in (literally) with the corner of the dining room table when I was four.

Also... I love that CD.

Underneath my goatee there's a permanent scar just beneath my bottom lip, which I am told came from running around my grandparents' house, falling and biting through (presumably from the inside).

My only facial scar is a chickpox one next to my left eye.

My only real injurious scar is right between my boobs. I tripped and feel near a swingset. I scraped my chest (I was 7 or 8 so no boobs yet) and cut it open to the bone. No stitches because it was not a clean cut. The sharp plastic peice basically skipped along my chest and just took out bits of flesh, so nothing to stich up (even though it looks like it).

I have one of those boobie scars too. One of my brothers scared the cat I was holding, and it left tracks... right across my nipple. I think I was all of 8. It's still there today even.
Thankfully the plastic surgeon did away with the one on my face: bike accident that left my upper lip disfigured. The nice surgeon got the scar tissue and the residual road tar out. We even got the bonus of learning that I shouldn't have that local anesthetic from that surgery.

I also have a scar from a cat... It just looks different because of the treatments to make it flat. It keloided on me.

The Big Kitty has one too; it's on his upper lip. Something having to do with a brick fireplace.

Oh ouch. Glad to hear no lasting major injury...may their bodies and their dignities heal fast.

I still have a face scar from childhood, too, it's just hard to see because of the glasses. It's below my right eye, right on the line of the eye socket, and it's from running full-tilt into a brick wall in 5th grade. Remind me to tell you the full story one day, it's great.
