When I got home last night and crawled into my jammies, I was looking forward to a little time with my crochet, snuggled against [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn playing his game on the laptop. Not so.

Princess Sticky and her newly manifested Hand of Destruction Entropy had gotten into my yarn -- and not just any yarn. Oh, no. The yarn attached to my work. So, we spent the next few hours trying to untangle the mess. I say "we" because it started out as just me doing this...but, as I approached that place where curses are sputtered through tears, my husband relented and took some onto himself. We were Covered in Yarn. Finally, I ended up making a couple of cuts in order to save all the yarn. I'll just get to practice working new lengths in a bit more than I'd planned, that's all.

It was pretty silly to stay up past midnight to do this, however, and it made me realize I need to do some mental housekeeping. While [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn is out tonight, I believe I'll indulge in some meditative laundry folding and sock sorting. Perhaps that will help me unpack and unravel a bit from within.

I've had a similar experience, and it isn't Fun. (the YCP came up and presented me with my knitting needles from my current project (without the yarn on them anymore) and wanted to swordfight. I'm sure the response he got was not what he was hoping for.)

Hopefully the quiet time will help tonight.
