keepin' on (also, pity party)
May. 4th, 2011 10:39 amI wish I had something dazzling to post about these days. Life is filled with ordinary pleasures and difficulties...none of it particularly blog-worthy, much as it absorbs my attention.
I have not attended any artistic or theatrical events -- not even a movie night, other than school concerts -- in a very long time. I've been camping, but have no real vacation to map out or post pictures from. I seldom spend time with anybody other than family, other than parent meetings or performances for things the kids are involved in.
We struggle, sweat, and juggle chainsaws in the burbling chaos of life. We breathe, love, learn, sleep, and then start it all over again the next day.
I used to think I had no social life, but I think I didn't know how much further into "not social" it was possible to go. I sure hope I manage to find some time to garden this summer, because I could sure use a little bit of senseless beauty in my life. Being able to buy dirt will feel like a luxury. How's that for perspective?
If anybody needs me, I'll be over here with my nose to the grindstone with nothing exciting or sparkly at all to speak of.
