Ten Commandments and such
Jan. 24th, 2005 03:34 pmSo, yesterday's KidSpace lesson plan included discussion of the Ten Commandments and various pagan editions thereof. Or something like that. I've been waiting for
agrnmn to post something about this, but he hasn't, so I'll go ahead and ruin it. (Love you, honey! XOSO)
Anyway, he brought lists: Ten Commandments, Delphic Maxims, Nine Virtues, etc. They talked and read and argued for a bit. Then, he had them write their own "commandments" for the world.
There were some good ones, which I'll let him report eventually. Two of Princess Boredom's included:
No animal will ever be harmed, for any reason. (In an uncharacteristic moment of kindness,
agrnmn did not point out her failure to stick with the vegetarian thing.)
AND
Everybody will put the lids on their trash cans. (I'm guessing an unnamed assumption here is that everyone will be *using* trash cans.)
When questioned about why she put this one in, Princess Boredom replied, ( wait for it... )
