saffronhareThis morning, I actually used some coarse words in discussing an issue with a colleague. There's been a great deal of confusion over things, and mistakes in what needed to be done, and what was actually done, etc. I suggested we all meet for about 15 minutes to sort things out so we all would have the same information about where things were and what needed to be happening. Perfectly reasonable, if a bit frustrated. Until Bob mentioned that he didn't think I'd have time for a meeting.
My response? "You're right, I barely have time for a meeting. But I really don't have the time to dick around with this and make more mistakes because I don't have all the information."
Bob blinked at me for a moment. I lifted an eyebrow at him. He said, "I guess you're right. Let me go talk to some people." Boss-lady continued to snort coffee out her nose and giggle for a minute before making a comment that it's been a while since I'd used a phrase quite so colorful. Carry on, she said.
harumph.
