Observations from the weekend.
Apr. 25th, 2005 08:59 amThe volume or pitch of a child's screeching is indirectly proportional to their distance from the nearest telephone conversation.
I didn't think Catwoman sucked that bad. Benjamin Bratt isn't choosing roles any smarter than Halle Berry, but they sure looked good getting naked together. Also, I, Robot was pretty enjoyable. My opinion probably has something to do with not having read much (if any) Asimov and the fact that I was groovin' on Will Smith's bod. The gratuitous nude shower scene was well-received.
Fencing isn't supposed to be an anaerobic experience. Plus, I'm getting slow and sloppy and my left boob hurts. Competence...is...slipping...!
Drumming in a waltz rhythm (ONE-two-three, ONE-two-three) Does Not Work.
Unlike her mother, the Coatl seems to prefer heights. The last two nights, she's finally succumbed to sleep on the landing at the top of the stairs -- like, with an arm or leg dangling perilously over the edge. Last night, we heard her come out of her room...but she was quiet and we were tired, so we let it be and eventually forgot about it. When
agrnmn was getting himself together for work, I wondered out loud, "Is she still at the top of the stairs?" A chirpy little voice piped up, "No, she's ASLEEP at the top of the stairs!" They have an obscene amount of energy for little people who get up at 7:30 a.m. and don't nap.
Some nights, sleeping alone is much more restful. (Example: begging the husband to sleep on the couch due to snoring.) Other nights, it's the opposite. (Example: last night, when there were soft, clean sheets and everything. But brain in overdrive.)
Whenever I think I look good or look bad on any given day, there's at least a 50% chance that I'll be Wrong.

Re: Data!
Date: 2005-04-25 02:34 pm (UTC)2. She falls out of bed nearly every night, a trait she inherited from her mother. That's one of the reasons her bed isn't on a frame. I don't like her sleeping at the top of the stairs One Little Bit.
Re: Data!
Date: 2005-04-25 04:28 pm (UTC)2. Huh. I've never seen you fall out of bed. :)
Re: Data!
Of course not. But, given that she sleeps in a bed roughly the size of an arena football field that sits directly on the floor, one has to assume that falling out of bed is a concern. I mean, why else would two people need a bed that size?
Re: Data!
Date: 2005-04-25 04:53 pm (UTC)Ok, I'll skip the obvious reason of more area to move around in whilst enjoying each other's company; to point out that when you have young children that jump in bed with you, you don't get much of the bed left to yourself. I demanded that we get a king size when the OCP would hop in and take up half of the 1/3 of the bed that the ex had left me. The YCP was worse; he liked to make the cross-bar of an "h" between the 2 of us.

Date: 2005-04-25 05:01 pm (UTC)There's something in it about large dogs that want to sleep in your bed, as well.

Date: 2005-04-25 05:22 pm (UTC)Yes, I still manage to fall out of bed. Having the bed on the floor means less distance to impact. :)
