saffronhareIt's been an interesting weekend of reversals and lessons in humility.
Last week, I resolved to get back to daily yoga practice, but then ended up with such astounding menstrual cramps that any sort of bending or twisting made me grit my teeth and hiss (which, I've heard, is NOT what yoga is supposed to be about). Boffer battles on Friday and Saturday evening were rollicking good fun, as was working in the yard on Sunday, but the resultant bug bites all over my flanks and ass -- as well as the full-body bruising -- have me greeting today Not Quite Ready for my Nude Scene. My figure is truly stunning right now, but not for the usual reasons. I bruise way too easily for a girl who enjoys rough play so much, and who...well, the less said about that, the better. It's just plain embarrassing.
On Saturday, I promised to work harder at "showing the hell up." Not as formal an oath as I usually make, but it seemed like a worthy goal. Well, Princess Sticky was even more horrible-er on Sunday than she was at Saturday's ritual, so I decided the possibility of some weird infection made it a Bad Idea to bring her to Gaia. I really wish I hadn't missed the ritual, and love my goblet. Never did figure out what was wrong with her, but it involved a lot of screaming and tested my patience a great deal. I needed a nap by about 7:30 p.m. She felt well enough last night to struggle with bedtime (like, until about 11 p.m.), so perhaps that's a good sign?
We have a line on a twin bed for Princess Sticky, so she will perhaps stop going over to !Kaboom's bed and trying to push her out of it. Anybody need a toddler bed with crib mattress and sheets?
Otherwise, just movin' and groovin' and getting through the day.
