News from the Pan-Galactic Fundraising Conference

Interesting things that have happened today:

1. Somehow, I managed to "spring forward" twice. This resulted in a rushed breakfast and race to the convention center to help my colleagues set up, followed quickly by a discovery that I am an imbecile. Slightly slower trek back to the hotel, followed by taking a few minutes to call home and then another trek to the convention center, where set-up and registration wrangling commenced.

2. I discovered that I really know nothing about avoiding the shaft when taking a cab. At least the dude gave me a receipt for it.

3. Our booth location gives us a clear shot at a direct competitor's booth. Look for updates soon. We don't have any giveaways with good aerodynamics (they all have our logo on them anyway), so I'll have to be creative. This could be fun.

4. Harry Belafonte is our Keynote Speaker, but he is talking instead of singing. I cannot stand to listen to his speaking voice. That's why I'm goofing off at the Internet Cafe (inside the Expo Hall) right now.

5. Opening night reception is sponsored by the competitor mentioned in point #3. I am going to eat and drink a lot. And stuff things in my bag.
